Should we always do what makes us happy? So what should we do with our tasks and responsibilities? I believe we can not devote our entire life to doing obligatory jobs. We need to choose our way of living according to our own preferences, and we need moments to relax and enjoy our hobbies. However, I do not think we should set all of our goals just in order to bring ourselves pleasure. Therefore in general, I agree with the statement according to which People should sometimes do things that they do not enjoy doing due to our devotion for people we love, and because we have to pay attention to the social rules too.
First and foremost, all of us have some responsibilities. We all have some values and moral principles. Every body enjoys having fun and no one likes misery and pain, but there are some moments that we should do what we are supposed to do. For example, having a child may be a dream for many parents. But a child may get sick and need a lot of care. Sometimes parents sacrifice their whole properties and even their own life to protect their child. This is not what someone would enjoy, but we do it because it is right. We can not be indifferent to our friends, family or anyone who needs our help.
Another point that should be taken into account is that if people could do whatever they like, there would not have be anything known as “law”. Law forces people to respect each others’ right. However, in many cases, we may not enjoy some legal constraints. Sometimes we think they are to rigid or unreasonable. It is true that we all enjoy being free to do what we want, but it is not always beneficial. We have made a legal system to live peacefully together. For example we may enjoy driving with high speed, but we have to pay attention to the rules and limitations in order not to harm anyone.
To sum up, drawing a conclusion based on the aforementioned ideas, I should state that we have only one chance to live a happy life. So doing the job or study we enjoy plays a crucial role in our self-satisfaction and happiness. But we should not live a hedonistic life. There are some moments we have to leave an entertaining activity because it annoys others. Also sometimes we do something to please our friends, to strengthen our bonds, and to support the ones we love, even though it does not benefit ourselves.
Hi Mandana, another excellent essay. I had to be pretty picky to find any errors in your writing, though I was able to uncover a few, along with a few suggestions to make your ideas a bit more clear. Overall, I would rate this a 4.5 out of 5.
