Is it correct to say :4 hours and a half or 4 and a half hours?

Usually ‘four and a half hours’.
Four hours and a half’ is rather poetic for everyday use.

But it wouldn’t be totally wrong, right ? Because I wrote it in my English exam so that’s why I wouldn’t like to lose 2 points for this.
