Hi,
I am Vietnamese but studying MBA in Korea. I just took a Toeic exam on 22/07 and going to get the result on 11/08.
What I’d like to ask here is how Toeic test is calculated. Well, the highest score is 990 for 200 questions. Supposedly if someone did it correctly, say, 180 questions (90% right and 10% wrong), would he get a 891 score (= 90% x 990)? Is every question out of 200 evaluated equally when being calculated?
Hi Parrotie,
By now you should have received your TOEIC score so your question might have been answered. Every question in the TOEIC score carries a different value towards your total score since each question resembles a different level of difficulty.[YSaerTTEW443543]

Right Torsten, So many people confuse REAL tests to those of many internet and school assessment tests where 8 correct out of 10 means 80%.
We have this comment so often at www.onlineenglish.eu and also tell people that the algorythm for test score calculation is not so simple!
Rob
Yah it’s not so simple
for classic version
There are 2 parts , score is 495 each so total is 990.
If you can correct 0-6 Questions, you will get 5 score.
Then score will be increase 5 score up to question no. 25 [=100]
Question 26 [=110]
Question 27-34 , increase 5 each [=150]
Question 35 [=160]
Question 36-43 , increase 5 each [=200]
Question 44 [=210]
Question 45-46 , increase 5 each [=220]
Question 47-48 , increase 5 each [=240]
Question 49 [=245]
Question 50-52 , increase 5 each [=260]
Question 53 [=270]
Question 54-55 , increase 5 each [=280]
Question 56 [=290]
Question 57-58 , increase 5 each [=300]
Question 59 [=310]
Question 60-63 , increase 5 each [=330]
Question 64 [=340]
Question 65-69 , increase 5 each [=370]
Question 70 [=340]
Question 71-82 , increase 5 each [=450]
Question 83 [=460]
Question 84-89 , increase 5 each [=490]
Question 90-100 , score will be 495
I think , during practice you can multiply by 5 for each question to calculate.
So approximate score is 180 * 5 = 900
