I am an English teacher and I love my profession very much. But I am afraid that my English is not good enough, so I want to improve it. In the morning, I usually read English articles. And in the evening, I usually watch English programs,such as CCTV-9 news, or I watch English movies. Besides, I very like listening to English songs, especially pop songs. I think all these are very uesful ways to improve my English. Do you think so?

You asked me why do i want to improve my english? You will agree with me when I say english is the first language in South Africa.If I want to get a decent job,I have to know this language. English is the key to unlock and lock all the successful doors in this country. At the university we study in english.When I completed my studies I had to look for a job.There comes the intervies.How do i sit in that panel interview and answer those questions if i can not speak a proper english.Believe me when I say I have been there before,embarassing myself with the broken english,from one interview to another.If you are lucky to get that job,there comes the report writing.How do you do it when your english is bad.You might have all the facts,but at the end of the day you have to put it on writing.Therefore, english has become my first priority these days.I am willing to give it a chance.That`s the reason why i want to improve my english.

do you want to know why I want to improve my English? Well, I have a Commercial Pilot Licence for aircraft and English for aviation is very important, I can safely say it’s essential. In addition, every three years I must sustain a test in english and I must pass that test to continue to fly. This is a great opportunity to improve my English and I want to take advantage of it. Finally, if I speak English I can go around the world without problems.

Dear Teachers, you are asking why I’m trying to improve my English. Well because I’m a member of the Italian Navy sometime I need to talk with other members of a Navy belonging to the NATO, but not only for this reason. Since last june (it is the starting time of my English emproving attempt) I’ve realized that it is very interesting trying to understand “directly by the mouth of the speakers”, what people speaking english are saying while I’m listening news, reports and others that I found during surfing internet. Let me saying again this site is “the best” that people wishing to improve and increase their English knowledge can found in the whole internet “world”.

thank Mr torston , i appreciate your effort ,becauase are heloping all the members in this programe i want to improve my English in order to be a qualified teacher in Emglish ,as for me i teach English langauge to different students either girls or boys , i almost undersand most of the grammar rules,but ,unfortunatlly i don’t practise speaking and talking with other people ,because my native langauge is Arabic ,i like to be very good in teaching toefle,it needs too effot to be qualified in it .Thank you very much

I have read your message. I have no proper International English knowledge. I have no opportunity to speak in English here. My mother tongue is Tamil language. I have already said that I am a retired Tamilnadu State Government Officer, India. Here the medium of Government correspondence mostly in Tamil language only. That’s why I am not able to express myself in English correctly. My daughter’s family is now in the USA. I want to better my english so that I can send mails correctly. Also, I want to better equip myself to fluently speak the language if any opportunity may come to me to visit the USA.
I want to learn english language to help any one need to me and to invite many people to our religion Islam and I prefer Sheikh Ahmed Deedat, I will become like him Inchallah, God willing, God bless you.
