Simple Present III (Unit 9)

Sentences end with a full stop.
Sentences written in capital letters cannot be checked for errors as it is impossible to see if you know where the capital letters should go.

If you would care to try again, using the capital letters only where they should be. then I will look at it.

I like this course beacouse is easy to understan, Thanks.

I do not go to the party.
You do not have to do this.
He does not drink coffee.
she does not write very well.
They do not go with us.
we do not are doing the same.
They do not know where they are going.

You have chosen the wrong verb for some of your sentences to sound natural. For some simple present questions ‘to be’ is better than ‘to do’:

I am not going to the party. <-- This would be more natural than using ‘to do’.
She does not write very well. <-- You missed the initial capital letter.
They are not going with us. <-- This would be more natural than using ‘to do’.
We are not doing the same. <-- Your version is incorrect.

The others are fine.

Hello Torsten,

I am so thankful for always sending me our lessons. It really helps me a lot. Although, I am not that good in using this language

because I use to speak in our own language, Filipino or Tagalog. And since English is now is the universal language so I

have no choice but to really learn English properly.

About our topic on negative statements: (Please correct my mistakes… thank you)

I do not watch movies.

You do not know the reason why he is acting like that.

He does not follow the rules of the game.

She does not want to attend your party.

We do not allow other people to mingle with our problems.

You do not have the permission to go out of the room especially during examinations.

They do not take a bath everyday?

Again thanks for helping us. Have a nice day and more power.

Just call me,
Elvie

Hello Gisalan,

I do not watch movies. <-- correct

You do not know the reason why he is acting like that. <-- correct

He does not follow the rules of the game. <-- correct

She does not want to attend your party. <-- correct

We do not allow other people to mingle with our problems. <-- ‘mingle with’ is the wrong verb here. Perhaps you mean ‘interfere in’.

You do not have the permission to go out of the room especially during examinations. <-- almost correct. ‘Permission’ does not take the article: You do not have permission to…

They do not take a bath everyday? <-- They do not take a bath every day.
Everyday (a 1 word phrase) means ordinary or commonplace.
Every day (a 2 word phrase) means daily.
You should have used ‘every day’.

I do not eat meat.
My father does not take milk.
The president does not drive.
I hear swahil but I cannot speak it.
I do not like wasting time.
Many members of parliament do not attend sessions.

Hi Aright,

All written sentences require a capital letter at the beginning. Would you care to try again?

Hi Beeesneees
and thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks a lot.
you are an expert.

So does that mean you aren’t going to try again? There are some other errors in your sentences too but unless you put the basic errors right I don’t see the point in discussing them further.

Sorry

[color=darkblue]Hi everyone.
Here are my negative simple present sentences:
You have chosen the wrong verb for some of your sentences to sound natural. For some simple present questions ‘to be’ is better than ‘to do’:
[color=darkblue]I do not want to stay here.
I do not have a classic car.
She does not spend one hour with me. <-- She is not spending one hour with me’. The verb ‘to be’ would be a more natural choice than the verb ‘to do’.
[color=darkblue]He does not guess about the soccer match result. <-- The simple present sounds like a strange tense to choose for this question. ‘He has not guessed…’ or ‘he is not able to guess…’ would sound more natural.
[color=darkblue]They do not take their plane tickets. They are not taking… would sound more natural.
[color=darkblue]It does not effective for our problem. <-- You definitely need ‘to be’ rather than ‘to do’ here: It is not effective for our problem. - more accurately, this would be: It is not an effective solution to our problem.

[color=darkblue]Give me your corrective advices. <-- Give me your corrections. /Give me your advice for correcting them.
[color=darkblue]Good world for all. <-- This doesn’t make sense, sorry.
[color=darkblue]Thanks and bye.

Thank you, Beeesneees
