Oh, Yeah Rock n Roll!

Dear Bez,

Are you alive? I received a message from you for a longtime. You made my day, THANKS for the explanation. You should write to O.E.D that they can give the explanation of the verb ‘flatten’ what means in the music.(I am joking!) But the DictZone tells =félhanggal leszállít (zenében). But I can’t write this to Mr. Kyaw, can I?

So I understood what means , and immediately I remember that my brother who was/is very musical he told me when he was a teenager that the beauty of the blues that the pitch of the music is lowered by a half tone. So this is called the transposition. Many thanks again.

You know in my family everybody was musical except me. I had to learn to play the piano for seven years, but I didn’t play anything by ear, but my brother and my mother can note immediately a ‘brand new’ tone. And my mother could play the piano those hits which were hits in our green. Whereas she only heard once in the radio. And she could play it with two hands because she knew the tunefulness.

Many thanks: Kati

Yes, it is.

We have all these words like transcribe, improvise, transpose, syncronize in music.

But technically there is no flat or sharp between B and C as I remember. I’ve been out of music for some 7 good years, since my girl ditched me.

Me poor thing. So I sing 'oh yeah rock n roll. I’d rather sing one two twist, three four twist, twist twist twist then. Oops.

Have fun!

Let’s yell ’ Wooly Bully, then.

Uno, dos,
one, two, tres, quatro.

Matty told Hatty about a thing she saw.
Had two big horns and a wooly jaw.
Wooly bully, wooly bully.
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.

Hatty told Matty: “Let’s don’t take no chance.
Let’s not be L-seven, come and learn to dance.”
Wooly bully, wooly bully.
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.

Matty told Hatty: “That’s the thing to do.
Get you someone really to pull the wool with you.”
Wooly bully, wooly bully.
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.

Dear Mr Kyaw,

Before we are imagine we have to know that C major’s minor is the A minor.

C major:
C major scale:

C -whole- D -whole- E -half- F -whole- G -whole- A -whole-B -half- C

Its A minor scale:

A -whole- B -half- C -whole- D -whole- E -half- F -whole-G -whole- A

The difference the intervals between the keys (sounds-in the Minors and Majors this causes an other sounding.

Majors:In major scales, half steps appear after the 3rd and 7th notes.
Minors:In minor scales, half steps follow the 2nd and 5th notes.

When I’ve read your letter I saw that it can’t be possible that there is no difference between the flat B and the sharp C.

It was a superfluous time to explain because this pic shows what I had written.

But it wasn’t superfluous because what English calls whole B we call H.
What English calls Falt B we call B. This confused me. At last I realized. I never thought that there is difference the names of the notes. WOW! I 've got tired!

Which distubed me we say : C-D-E-F-G-A-H-C
In Hungarian B is the flatted H -this MISLED me when you wrote “there is no flat or sharp between B and C as I remember.”
Claviatura with English name:

Claviatura with Hungarian name:
commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Klaviatur.svg-I couldn’t copy, please see it-
After this that I can see what you call "flat or sharp between B and C " I think there is difference because the flat B is the last black key (where is three together) you can see on the pic and the sharp C is the white key (below the two black key, the first)

I don’t know that you asked this or I misunderstood you.

Regards:
Kati Svaby

I mean there are no flat or sharp notes between B and C , and E and F.

But when they write the music particularly with Flat majors or minors they would use as Cb i.e B, B# i.e C. As far as I remember.

Sometimes, I don’t feel so happy that I had to discard what I love, in the rat races.

So I won’t involve in any rat race any more.

I eat lotus. So I can’t be a fat rat any more but I’m a happy lotus eater with full of life.

Watching the fat rats, skinny rats, diamond rats, mangy rats etc, etc.

Most of them bite the dust for nothing, in harness, so they go straight to hell. They could save nothing but sin for their next lives. Poor thing.

So I sing Born to be wild and Light my Fire.

Steppenwolf Born to be Wild

Get your motor runnin’ Head out on the highway Looking for adventure In whatever comes our way
Yeah, darlin’ Gonna make it happen Take the world in a love embrace Fire all of your guns at once And explode into space
I like smoke and lightnin’ Heavy metal thunder Racing in the wind And the feeling that I’m under
Yeah, darlin’ Gonna make it happen Take the world in a love embrace Fire all of your guns at once And explode into space
Like a true nature child We were born Born to be wild We can climbed so high I never wanna die Born to be wild Born to be wild
Get your motor runnin’ Head out on the highway Looking for adventure In whatever comes our way
Yeah, darlin’ Gonna make it happen Take the world in a love embrace Fire all of your guns at once And explode into space
Like a true nature child We were born Born to be wild We can climbed so high I never wanna die Born to be wild Born to be wild

The Doors ’ Light my fire

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn’t get much higher

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah

The time to hesitate is through

Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre

Have fun my lady. Life is so short 100x365x24x60x60 seconds only. If I’m not so wrong.

I don’t want to go into my next life with a long face. The folks in the next life won’t say 'Pleased to meet you, to me then. lol

Dear Mr. Kyaw,

It was an outing into musical expressions. I am happy because it annoys me that why I don’t know those expressions what I know in Hungarian. There’s no getting away from it I learn in Hungarian schools, I learn play the piano from ÍHungarian teacher and we had to learn the solmization also in Hungarian. If you hadn’t spoken about it perhaps I would have never learned some musical expressions. So dear Mr. Kyaw you ·had done me good.

The two lyrics so beautiful as if a very good poet had written them. Many, many thanks for them. I read them only once, but for the first reading they are already beautiful, but I want to read them again and again.

There is some word about the mortality. It is interesting because yesterday evening I read an article from the Le Monde about a Hungarian writer. It is a long article, but I read only the beginning. I tried to translate it into English. I send you.

« Que crains-tu si tu sais que tu es mortel » ?= " That you are afraid if you know that you are mortal "?
Qui suis-je ? D’où vins-je ? Que deviens-je ? Où vais-je ? Qu’est-ce qui me meut ? =Who am I? Where from I did come? What do I become? Where do I go? What moves me?
Mais, plus sérieusement, comment me comprendre mieux et comment organiser mieux ma vie ? Est-ce affaire de réflexions, d’idées, de sentiments, d’expériences, de souffrances, de joies… ?=But, more seriously, how understand me better and how organize better my life? Is it affair(business) of reflections, ideas, feelings, experiences(experiments), sufferings, enjoyments?
I do not know; but to read Kertész brings me to ask all these questions, in the disorder mostly, as what I get ready to write. To read it plunges me at the heart of myself so much the writing of Kertész, is an open letter for the self-awareness, in search of the “me”, it “I” of whom he says that it is a fiction the co-authors of which we can be, at the most, only.

Good! I was convincing this time. And you were very kind to say that!

I started admiring you and then … you came up with this Viagra idea … Do you always have ideas? Oh, yes, you do, I had forgotten.

Know that my tortoises are still children: a boy and two girls, and will still be, another couple of years, so … what Viagra were you talking about?

Don’t answer to this. Who knows what else you could say?!

That the UFOs were tortoises or what? jelly fish?

Oh you say vitamins and I say Viagra. Oops.

Things are so complicated, sometimes, to me.

Have fun!

And don’t be so sure about your baby turtles, they’re in the electronics age now. Things go awfully fast as you know?
