Eating crow and humble pie?

Hi Alan,

I was just saying him that is not nice to speak bad about your own country.Sorry!

Alan’s essay was very intresting and enjoyable. I learnt some new terms and phrases such as ‘PIE IN THE SKY’. I just want to had that it is intresting how we can use the word sorry at times and really don’t mean it. I think that the word is sometimes abused.

I really enjoyed reading this article. It’ teaches you how to speak english fluently, not sounding awkward or odd. This kind of material comes handy when you feel you have some level but also that there’s something missing. thank you for sharing this with us!

How are you,
i am really enjoyed to read the essay. i am sorry because my English is not better so I can’t write some sentences appropriately, thanks.

Alan townend meny thanks for this essay l so much enjoy it.fordermore on my reading trough the essay l lean meny things acoding to the essay’ such like good charaters, obidience selft control, pecience e.t.c. I also pig out some of the beag word to use for my day to day live activities. With all orther members’ it is a plassure best regerd (Alan). from kufre, in Africa.

Thanks for the story! It was so much fun reading it. I wish I could write something that interesting. And the idea of learning English grammar unconsciously is brilliant. Actually for many English learners, partners to practice English with are not available. That’s why I talk to myself all the time.

Have you looked up the meaning of both words in the dictionary?[YSaerTTEW443543]

TOEIC listening, photographs: Smoke stacks[YSaerTTEW443543]

[color=red]Is this sentence correct ? If not please explain why?
[u]Why everyone in the room did not believe the explanation?

Really good essay. An example to follow. I wish I could write all essays and coursepapers on the same level, although it is just practice. The more you write the better it is. So just practice and practice and practice.

Hi Olkozian,

Thanks for your comments. You are absolutely right about practice. How often do you practise? How do you find living in Switzerland? I’d be interested to hear.

Ala.

A very interesting essay Alan. I could understood certain words in it only with the help of the dictionary.
Thanks for this wonderful piece of information.

Hi, Mr Torsten and Mr Alan:
Thanks so much for sending this essay.
What i can learn from this is some english idioms describing how people accept their mistakes, errors, wrongdoings…Some words that i dont’ know can be guessed from exciting illustrations of Mr Alan. But i think it’s better to read the essay once more time and even more than twice to understand the whole thing. I think in the essay you are suggesting that language items that we’ve learnt must be selected to communicate in different context. That is goal that language learner aim at, isn’t it. Once more time, thanks again for what you do to make this online course more attractive, interesting and useful for us.
Best regards,

Hi Hoamuahe, here are two suggestions I wish to recommend in your message;
1- “i” is a personal pronoun and should always be written in the upper case “I”
2- We write English not english

Thanks

Thanks for reminding me Nzuahp. I always forget that whenever I write. Next time I will pay more attention to this.

And yuor essay y have to find compelx sentences and commond sentences, and how
to find subject and object…
