"accents" Brad Pit speaks like an Irish Gypsy

So let me get this right - everyone must do as you say?

They must take everything you say the way you say you mean it

and we also have to take what you interpret others are meaning regardless of what they actually say they mean??

And all this linguistic prowess coming from someone who isn’t even a native speaker.

“your racist and sexist statements, which you oh-so-cleverly wrap up as jokes”,

but of course you’re not calling me a Racist?

No further questions your honor

A person can make racist statements without actually being “a racist”. It happens often enough.

Also, racism isn’t just about skin color and every person of any color or ethnic group can be a racist. Still, there is a difference between being told to “make racist statements” and being called “a racist”.

If it bothers you that someone who’s English is the second language shows any “linguistic prowess”, perhaps you should consider talking to native speakers only, which won’t be many, since you are on an ESL forum.

P.S. I’m not trying to tell people what to do and to do it my way. I try to help others or give advice when asked, and hope to encourage people to actively participate. If this isn’t welcome, I’ll leave it be. My post about the difference between Irish Travelers and Romani was meant as a snippet of information to those who may not know.
