zero conditional

Hello,

could you please explain following:

We use the zero conditional to talk about things in general. Could you explain the difference between a sentence with “when” and “if”? In what situation are they used?

When/If you fly budget airline, you have to pay for your drinks and snacks.
If/When you need more space, a small car is big enough for one person.

another question:

When we talk about things in general, we use the Present Simple.
When we are talking about things in general, we use the Present Simple
.

Giving a definition, speaking in general, when do we use the Present continuous in the when-clause? Is there a difference? And again can we replace when with if in these cases?

Thank you

1-- One distinction of the zero conditional is that when = if. The conjunctions are interchangeable.
2-- I see no real difference between present simple & present continuous there, and the conjunctions are again interchangeable.

Hi

We use ‘if’ for possible and use ‘when’ for say to do something after that.
Maybe I wrote above sentence grammatically wrong!!!

If you need more space, a small car is big enough for one person. (Maybe you don’t need any space)

We use ‘if’ for possible and use ‘when’ for say to do something after that.– Not in the case of the zero conditional, which is what we are discussing here, Mdgh.

Thank you very much for your attention.
