you are planning to study abroad. what do you think you will like and dislike abo

I have been planning to study abroad since I’ve started my university. I have thought about things that I might like and dislike a lot. I am sure now that I won’t like being away from my family and friends, while I will enjoy living independently, meeting new people with new culture.

To begin with, I’m going to be homesick abroad. I love my family and I have never been away from them more than a week; therefore, I will miss them while I am in another country pursuing my education. Even though I know my parents will come and visit me whenever they can, but still it is hard for me to be away from them. Also I will miss my friends, miss hanging out with them every Friday nights, miss talking to them on the phone.

On the other hand, I will enjoy experiencing for the first time how it’s like to live on your own and be independent. For example, what I’ m going to do when my machine breaks down in the night or when my television has a problem. In addition, I will like interacting with new people who do not share the same culture with me and I get a chance to learn it; for example, I want to know what are their holidays, how their parties are like, what they wear for different occasions.

To sum up, although I’ve been planning to study abroad for a long time and I want to experience living independently and meeting new people with new culture, I know I’m going to miss my family and friends a lot.

TOEFL listening discussions: Why does the student visit the registrar’s office?

I have been planning to study abroad EVER since I FIRST started AT my university. I have thought about things that I might like and dislike a lot. I am sure now that I won’t like being away from my family and friends, while I will enjoy living independently AND meeting new people with new culture.

To begin with, I’m going to be homesick abroad. I love my family and I have never been away from them FOR more than a week; therefore, I will miss them while I am in another country pursuing my education. Even though I know my parents will come and visit me whenever they can, but still it WILL STILL BE is hard for me to be away from them. Also I will miss ALSO my friends, miss hanging out with them every Friday NIGHT, miss talking to them on the phone.

On the other hand, I will enjoy experiencing for the first time WHAT it’s like to live on your own and be independent. For example, what I’ m AM I going to do when my machine breaks down in the night or when my television has a problem(?)
In addition, I will like interacting with new people who do not share the same culture with me(,) and I WILL get a chance to learn THEIRS(.) For example, I want to know what are their holidays, WHAT their parties are like, what they wear for different occasions.

To sum up, although I’ve been planning to study abroad for a long time NOW(,) and I want to experience living independently and meeting new people with new cultureS, I know I’m going to miss my family and friends a lot.
