wish them well away

[color=darkblue]1-I wish them well away from me.

Can’t this sentence mean two things:
[color=red]a-I wish that they were well away from me.
[color=blue]b-I hope that they’ll have good fortune while they are away from me.

This is not a common thing to say. (a) is possible but to me this interpretation has an old-fashioned flavour. It is something I would expect to read in an old novel. (b) is just about feasible I suppose, but wouldn’t naturally occur to me. Context is important.
