Watching movies is one of the most popular pastimes today. With the advent of motion picture, a cinematography industry has dramatically developed. It spends millions upon millions of dollars while still reaping gigantic benefits.

The popularity of films is because they are the most fascinating and easiest means of escaping from increasing pressure, which comes from family, school, work-place, and so many other directions. The big screen catch audience’s attention, so film lovers will only remember what the film story was about, leaving their actual worries behind it.

When acoustic and visual effects are combined, movies are definitely more appealing for audiences than those printed books. It must have been much easier to see a movie than to read a book. What it takes many hours to read can be reduced to minutes by watching a movie. The music, the scene, the effects, etc are well conveyed in films.

Everything in a film appears to be much real than reality itself. On the big screen, we get fully immersed in the plot, so we feel that things are really happening. A topic, namely: love, can be tackle from different angles; therefore, movie lovers can work out different means of being in love, such as platonic devotion, mushy affection, warm love, fuzzy liking, and so on.

Perhaps the attractiveness of a movie neither resides in its plot nor its special effects, but in its well-played characters, or the famous stars that portray them. An appalling film can be benefited from the appearance of well-known public figures. Though, to participate in an abysmal movie can put their careers in jeopardy. However, their fans may forgive them from time to time.

In short, movies are so popular because: there are ways of evading reality; their special effects can dazzle the audience; film watchers can experience different feelings that they may not have the chance to do in their actual lives; and fans follow the careers of their idols no matter what.
