Where are you living?

Where do you live?
Where are you living?

Do both sentences have the same meaning?

Thanks!

This asks were you usually live for years.

This asks were you are living or staying for a short period of time.

Iā€™d prefer Where do you live?

But I think Where are you staying? will be readily acceptable.

Another point to consider - Where do you live? can often suggest a question about the country where you live. Where are you living? is often a question about your address.

Hi Alan I agree with you, but:

  • Where do you live? can also suggest a more long-lasting or permanent situation and where are you living? a temporary situation.
