when someone looks down on me

I would like to ask a question about being looked down. Actually I am not sure if the subject of this topic is referring to a right expression. I just want to clarify that if my sentence is right to use when I feel that somebody ignore or be arrogant towards me, with they-know-everything-and-I-know-nothing attitude ?

Yours sincerely
Sunho

Hi Sunho,

You have the right idea. If you look down on someone, it suggests that you consider them inferior and you consider yourself superior to them. It is another way of expressing the idea that you have a low opinion of them. An example: The neighbours looked down on the newcomer because he had spent some time in prison.

Hi Alan

Thank you for your clear explanation. I have got the idea now.

Also note look up to which is its antonym.
