When do we use proposition "THE"?

Could someone give a hyperlink to some literature, that would explain when we should use “THE”. For example - The London Bridge, The Big Ben (incorrect), The Eiffel Tower, The Coloseum e.t.c.

Hi,

Your examples are all of proper nouns. “The” is often adopted before proper nouns. BTW, a general explanation for the usage of “the” should require a book’s volume.
