In my country it is considered indecent when a host openly asks a guest to take the shoes off , unless you are on a good footing with them. I figure a man of good manners must take them off without any reminding, otherwise he is ill-bred. Personally, I would have no courage to give slippers to a guest without his request. I would put up with the situation and tidy up the rooms instead.
P.S. You should have rolled out the red carpet for her instead of… 8)
Above all, to have a white carpet at home is extremely troublesome–every slightest spot is clearly visible. I always buy carpets of dark colours since I don’t live alone, if you ask me. :lol:
Carpets maintainance is expensive,and not good for your health,too much mites,…friends are like a brother or sister in a foreign country,they make you laugh,are with you in the best and worst moments of your life,carpets cost,and friends are with you for free!!..Do I need to say something else?..Cris
