Hi Terminator,

A spin doctor is a person who gives advice or writes a speech for a politician. In our case it could be people acting in the background, helping to make decisions.
Spin doctors ‘put the right spin on’ a situation, this is, they express something in a diplomatic way.

Hi Terminator,

Just a further note on ‘spindoctors’. This is usually used in a bad sense to describe those people who try to improve the image or reputation of someone they work for in order to influence the public. The word is used to describe press officers working for politicians. People in the UK are getting very tired of these spindoctors because people find it difficult to get to the truth.

Hello Alan and Torsten.
Many thanks.
