Very formal way to say "get injury"

hello,

we usually say sb get injuried or injury, or be injuried. here is the sentence: there were several injuries to the crew and the few passengers that were on board.
this is my first time to say there be injuries to sb. could you please tell me is that very formal way to say get injury? and what are their differences?

Hi,

You can either say: There were several injuries to the crew or Members of the crew received several injuries. Both are the same.

Can we also say “suffered injuries”, Alan?
