Usage of like

  1. It looks like it will rain.

Can some one please tell me if the sentence above is correct?

I’d say it would be more common to use something other than ‘will’:

  • It looks like it’s going to rain. (very probable)
  • It looks like it might rain. (somewhat possible)

To say that it appears as if rain is on the way, a lot of people simply say “It looks like rain”.
