Usage of "Doing well"

How can I say when a person does so well in something that he/she makes the difference.

Such as in: “All students danced well, but Aaron ______”

Can I use outstand, detach, something like that? Help me, please.

“All students danced well, but Aaron was outstanding.”
“All students danced well, but Aaron’s dancing set him apart.”
“All students danced well, but Aaron exceeded them all.”

Those are just examples. There’s no verb “outstand”, and we only use “detach” to describe things that used to be attached to something.

Hi, Jamie
I was wondering if this would work: All students danced well, but Aaron really sucked(or sacked) it to them?
Thanks in advance !

PS: I think Juliana Melo meant stand out ? :? (like he stood out in the crowd)

First off, it sounds like an expression a foreigner made up, and secondly it’s obscene.

Ops… I made a terrible mistake! Not suck, but sock!
I meant this sentence: All students danced well, but Aaron really socked it to them?

“Sock it to” someone is an expression that was popular in the mid-1960s. Nowadays if you used it, people would probably laugh and do an imitation of Austin Powers.
