A foreign country is always an unpredictable place for visitors. There can be some difficulties with the language, understanding another nation or just some force major situations. I would give a few pieces of advice for tourist to avoid these possible problems.
First of all, it will be better to book a hotel before you arrive to Russia. There are a lot of events in many cities and all hotels can be filled in by other tourists.
Secondly, I would recommend to have a russian speaking guide to communicate better with native citizens. For instance, I saw several days ago a tourist who wanted to get a boat trip. The owner of the boat increased a price for him just because the tourist spoke English.
The last but not the least advice is to take care about your own things. There is a lot of public transport in our country. Once I saw that one tourist observed that his wallet was stolen in a metro during rush hour. It would be more safety to get a taxi instead of using public transport.
In conclusion I would say that foreign visitors could face some difficulties in our country. The most important pieces of advice are to have a russian speaking guide, take care about their things and book a hotel beforehand.
