Transitory verbs

What is a transitory verb? Give me examples.

It’s been a while since I last heard the expression, but Ms Google assured me of the following; the transitory (temporary) aspect focuses on a momentary aspect of the verb. An example could be ‘surprise’.

If someone surprises you, you may become temporarily impressed as a result. This may put you in a transitional (transitory) state of surprise. This is what could be your moments of bewilderment or confusion. Every now and again, you’re perplexed by this person.

On the contrary, madness is the defeat by perplexity - it’s permanent.
