To fire up the crazies?

Can anyone please tell me where and how the idiom ‘to fire up crazies’ originates from?

I don’t think “fire up crazies” is really an idiom. “Fire up” is an idiom, and “crazies” is an idiom, but in this case they just happen to be used together. In any case, “fire up the base” seems more common.

That’s very interesting. Basically, what you are saying that ‘to fire up the crazies’ is a combination of two idioms rather than one idiom itself?
