I would drop the article ‘an’:
And maybe ‘the basics of Buddhism’ sounds better than ‘basic Buddhism’. Let’s see what our native speakers have to say on this…

I agree with what Torsten has written. I would just that I prefer ‘everyone’ or ‘anyone’ to ‘all people’.
