"think of" vs "think about"

Hi buddies,

As far as I know that [think of] to use for something new, like ‘make up’ or ‘invent’, but [think about’ to use for something existed. Am I correct.

Please help to clarify the difference between [think of] and [think about] in advanced.

Please also help on the following question:

Thank you very much!
Hieu.

Hi,

‘Think of’ often has the idea of expressing an opinion when used as a question: What do you think of my new car? = What is your opinion of my new car?

‘Think about’ suggests giving consideration to when used as a question: What do you think about my idea of buying a new car?
