think logical vs. think logically

Hi,

I have a question on using an adjective after “think”.

Our teacher asks us to think logical.
Our teacher asks us to think logically.

I think are both are right, but what do you think? If both are right, which one is more natural?

Thank you in advance,

Hi,

In the sense that the word is describing the way you think, you need the adverb ‘logically’. The only way you can accept the adjective in that sentence is to consider the meaning as: Think as a logical person. That is a way of making the adjective a complement of the verb. In conclusion I would say the you really need the adverb.
