They proposed reading the minutes of the previous meeting

Dear teachers,
Please explain to me this sentence. What I don’t understand is that “reading the minutes”. It’s weird to me.
Thanks.

“They prosposed reading the minutes of the previous meeting again.”

Hi mlngvt

Minutes of a meeting’ is a document — the official documentation of a meeting. It’s based on notes taken during the meeting (usually by the secretary), is then written up after the meeting and summarizes what was discussed during the meeting.

Does that clear things up for you?

Amy

Thanks Amy very much.
It is very intersting that “minutes” has another meaning.
Thanks again, Amy.
