Please tell me the use of probably…
Can probably be used in past tense…For example: He bought the house probably for his wife.
“probably” can be used with any tense. For example:
“He probably bought the house.”
“He has probably bought the house.”
“He had probably bought the house.”
“He is probably buying the house.”
“He will probably buy the house.”
etc.
The position of “probably” in your sentence is not normally natural. Normally you would say “He probably bought the house for his wife.” However, the word order of your sentence may be possible with a pause, which we could indicate with a dash, like “He bought the house — probably for his wife.”
