Personally, I’d say something more like:
You’ve got plenty of time, so don’t read this passage too fast – do it carefully.
But that would be just my own, less formal version of your sentence.
If you want to use the word ‘peace’, the phrase should be ‘in peace’. This, however, suggests you should read the passage in a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed or distracted.

I’ll chuck in another suggestion: Read it calmly. You could of course expand it to: Read it where you won’t be interrupted.
