The use of "little less"


Could we use “little less” together? The speaker is asking his wife to give him tea with less sugar than she generally puts in his tea.


Yes, you could do that, Tom, if you thought the idea of ‘than usual’ was clear to the other person. However, I don’t think I’d typically omit the ‘than usual’ part.
