the main point is to ask yourself right questions

Hello again.
A situaion: a person whats to try someting new in his life but he can’t decide on anytying. He talks aobut it with his firends but they are unable to help him becasue they can’t get it what exactly he wants. One of them writes him an E-mail saying “the main point is to ask yourself right questions and get right answers”.
Does the phrase sound Ok to you? Of course, one can express the idea in a simplier way, something like “First decide what you want and then…” but I want it to be a bit elevated.

Hi,

Let me amend this for you:

The situation: someone wants to try something new in his life but he can’t decide on anything. He talks about it with his friends but they are unable to help him because they can’t get at what exactly he wants. One of them writes him an email saying - The main point is to ask yourself the right questions and that way you get the right answers.

Alan

Thank you, Alan!
