the last person to ...

[color=red]1) We know that he is the last person to have seen the murder victim alive.

  1. We know that he is the last person to see the murder victim alive.

  2. We know that he was the last person to see the murder victim alive.

Which of the above is correct?

Gratefully,
Navi.

All are possible, though (2) is less likely to be grammatically correct. Tenses change according to the context.

Why echo an answer? Nothing better to do?

[color=blue]You clearly don’t know what an echo is!

Beeesneees/Canadian45,
“We know that he is the last person to have seen the murdered victim alive.”
Is this sentence correct or not?

Thanks.

We usually refer to a victim of a murder as a ‘murder victim’.
If we were to use ‘murdered’ then generally the noun would be person/man/woman, etc. rather than ‘victim’.
