the best way to improve the quality of the education

The best way to improve the quality of the education in a country is to increase teachers’ salaries.

Perhaps no issue in this world is as significant to people as education, because it affects everybody in their daily lives. It has caused wide concern all over the world. There are various responses people have on this issue. Some people hold the opinion that the best way to improve the quality of the education in a country is to increase the teachers’ salaries. However, other people oppose to this viewpoint. From my point of view, although increasing teachers’ salaries may have some positive effects on the improvement of the education quality, it isn’t the best way to achieve the goal. That’s to say,we should do more to reach this destination.

There are various reasons why I maintain this opinion. And among those reasons are two important ones. The first and foremost reason is that we can use the money to buy some useful books for libraries and update the equipment in the laboratories. An increasing number of people, especially those from remote areas, are beginning to realize that the real reason why the education quality has not been improved greatly is that many remote areas have no access to those advanced facilities which can help students understand the principles from the books, and to the latest books which can encourage students supplement their background knowledge. So, if the government invest more money to those fields, the education quality may be improved greatly.

Another essential reason is that training teachers may play more important roles in improving the education quality. People from all walks of lives come to realize that the society is changing every day. Then we should get more infromation and knowledge, and it is especially important to teachers. It must be admitted that, on no account can we ignore the value of training teachers. According to a recent survey, 80% of teachers believe that with the development of science and techonology, they have a lot of difficulties in keeping up with the social changes. Believe it or not, if we train teachers regularly, they will grasp many skills , and they can improve their teaching methods and update their knowledge, which can benefit themselves and their students, even the society as a whole. In contrast, if we do not train teachers regularly, they may face many problems which will have negtive influences on the students and the education quality.

Of course, as the proverb says, ’every coin has two sides’. We should have a comprehensive consideration on this issue. Then we may find that increasing teachers’ salaries also has some advantages to some extent. For example, by doing this, teaches may have more incentive to work well. They will work harder than ever before in order to to get more salaries. What’s more, more and more outstanding people will be atttracted to work as teachers.

To sum up, if all those factors are contemplated, we may find that the advantages of training teachers and investing money to buy books and update the facilities carry more weight than the advantages of increasing teachers’ salaries. So, from what we have discussed above, we may safely draw the conclusion that increasing teachers’ salaries is one method to improve the education quality indeed, but it is not the best way to accomplish this goal. We should make our efforts to do many other things which can help us approach this destination.
