That is not a recognised bridle path

Hello everyone,

A group of people with backpacks are standing at some distance from a forest. Then one of them begins to walk towards a bridle path and one of the other guys shouts, “That is not a recognised bridle path!”

What does the phrase imply? That it is unknown bridle path or that is in a bad condition?

Thank you.

‘… are standing some distance from…’ - no ‘at’.

That it isn’t actually a bridle path
or
that it is not one of the bridle paths in use by that association/company, etc.

Thank you, Beeesneees.
