Hi Tortsen,
I didn’t really know where to post this, but anyways… I was doing the vocabulary practice tests for the MCAT when I stumbled across this problem:

n. micro-organism which can only live inside other cells

(a) node
(b) blood pressure
© virus
(d) acid salt

The test said c, virus, which threw me. I thought that because viruses are non-living, they can’t be classified as a micro-organism. I looked up the definition for organism, and it most definitely mentions that they are living things. So, what’s up with this question? Can I expect to possibly see something like this on the real test?

Many thanks for your question. Can you please tell me why you used to think that a virus doesn’t live? I’m asking because I’m sure you simply didn’t pay enough attention to the question at the time you were answering it. You probably knew that a virus does live and you simply were not aware of that at that very moment. Am I right? Regards,

my name’s Amr and i recently join in this site to improve my language and pronounciation. it is said the more i hear the better my language but in reality i don’t feel any progress. i have a good idea about improving my phonetics. it’s not my problem but it’s a problem for many people so i will speak with a plural pronoun “we” . we need a device posted on our ears and we speak mistakes it replies that there’s a mistake in your speaking then it gives the best pronounciation. withthis way, you can assure that your phonetics are correct and we become fluencible.
