Territory’s confidence

Hi guys,

I was looking up to find out about the meaning of bolster that I trapped into another word which is territory’s confidence. Does territory here mean nation?

He is making a bold attempt to bolster the territory’s confidence.

Hi Amir,

‘Territory’ is not really used to describe a nation. It has more the sense of a region or a part of a country. In many countries in the world there are some areas that want to break away from that country and be regarded as a separate region or territory.

Incidentally I think you meant to say ’ I tapped into another word …’

I still have doubt about “territory confidence”. Do you mean it means unity of a region?

Please correct me if I am wrong.

He is making a bold attempt to bolster the territory’s confidence means He is trying hard to improve that region.

Hi Amir,

He is trying to convince the territory to believe in its own ability. If you know someone about to go for an interview or take an exam who is anxious and believes they will fail, you can bolster their confidence by reassuring them that they will be all right and also that they are capable of success.
