Tenses

FRANK: You wanna go out with my wife?! Where [color=red]do you get the nerve
to ask me something like that?!

-----From Seinfeld

Do or did? What’s the difference?

Thanks

did - past tense. The man had the nerve to ask him that question.
do - present tense. The man still has ‘the nerve’ even though the question is in the past.

In practical usage - no difference.

Where have you got the nerve?

Thanks

‘Where have you got the nerve?’ is not usual.
