tell smb off

Hi again,
Is wording in “The teacher told me off for talking again today” the best possible option?
I would go for “The teacher again told me off for talking today” or “The teacher told me off again for talking today.” Do the last two sentences have the same meaning?
Thank you.

The teacher told me off for talking again today. - The talking was happening again.
The teacher told me off again for talking today. - The teacher was telling me off again.

‘The teacher again told me off…’ is a less common variation of ‘told me off again’.

Beeesneees,
What is the meaning for 'told me off '?
Could you please explain?
