Stumped by Articles

I can’t think of the answer to why we say,

“The New Yorker”, but "Better Homes and Gardens
as in the sentence

The article appeared in The New Yorker, The Boston Globe, and The Smithsonian but also appeared in Better Homes and Gardens, and in Field and Stream.

Is it as simple as the titles of these magazines and newspapers have the article “the” in them or is it something more insidious. :slight_smile:
