A new acquaintance of yours is thinking about studying your native language. How would you convince her that his would be a good decision? Use specific reasons and details in your response.
Studying a new language is always a positive experience, since there are a lot of benefits that it brings. I would like to point out some of these benefits in general, and in concrete, I would like to relate them with learning my native language, Spanish.
Firstly, I would like to highlight that, nowadays, we are involved in a speedy process of globalization. Moreover, I think that language is a key tool to be part of it. In the recent years, the number of Spanish-speakers has dramatically grown. This is because Spanish-speaking areas are becoming more and more thriving industrialized and because of the tourism. One example of industrialization is Madrid where a lot of international enterprises have their reference sites. An example of tourism is South America, a giant exotic area that has become the first choice for holidays for millions of people.
Secondly, language is the basic unit of cultures. When you travel or live abroad in non-English native areas, it is advisable to pay attention to language. If your destination is Spain, this part is compulsory since Spaniards do not usually speak more than one language. I would absolutely encourage everyone to learn my language since, from my point of view, the standards of living in Spain are very high.
Thirdly, learning a language is fun and social. More languages you know, more people you can speak with. Learning Spanish is very fun since Spanish-speakers are very open-minded and always ready for a nice talk. In addition, the grammar and pronunciation in Spanish is intuitive and not so difficult.
All in all, I guess that learning a new language, especially Spanish, is important in many aspects such as broadening your job and living expectations to other better places, such as Spain, dotted this growing globalized world.
