Sprinkle the salt on my orange pieces.

Hi teachers,

She has her husband under her control. Correct?

Sprinkle the salt on my orange pieces. Correct?

Many thanks in advance.

She has her husband under her control. = possible, but could be improved:
Her husband is under her control.
She has control over her husband.
She has her husband under control.

Sprinkle the salt on my orange pieces. - Do you mean orange segments? Do you really mean ‘salt’? I know that there is a wide variety of ways in which food can be prepared, and I’m no culinary expert, but I can’t imagine anyone wanting to add salt to oranges.
Sprinkle the salt on the segments of orange.
Sprinkle the salt on my orange segments.

Thank you, BN.

Sprinkle the salt on the segments of orange. Can we use “the” before “orange”?

Yes, but there is no need.

It’s really not necessary at all because the definite article is already.used before ‘segments’. And to say ‘the segments of the orange’ is too much of a good thing!

Thank you, BN and Alan.
