I am Marc from Belgium. I am an English teacher and I would really like my students to speak English with English-speaking students - preferably native speakers - on the internet. My students are between 13 and 14 years old. Is there a site on the web where this can be done? You see, in Belgium, the skill of speaking in a foreign language is very important in the 1st and 2nd year of secondary school. In those years students should be trained to learn how to speak English properly. Now, I think experience is the best teacher where speaking is concerned. Could anyone help me out on this one? Alan, could you? You see your explanation on ‘yesterday evening’ and ‘last night’ has been a great help to me.
Thank you for your posting. There are different organisations on the internet where this could be possible but in most cases there will be a fee involved. There is one that I know personally but I have not been in touch with them for a long time. You could try them and see what they can offer. Let me know if you have any luck. Their address is www.privateacher.com
I am learning English, but I am sometimes in internet to speak English to other students. But they are not only from America or England. They are from all over the world. I think you allways try the side eslcafe
I suggest to ESL admins to create a sort of Chat room that provides facilities among the ESL forum to chat one another. It will be preferable and can be an effective way to get more fluent in speaking (I mean, this forum provides something like Skype)
