Since kindergarten

I have been making cards for my teachers since kindergarten . My mother taught me how when I was a kid.

Should it be “since I was in kindergarten” instead"?

Thanks.

I think shortening the phrase to ‘since kindergarten’ is perfectly fine here.

Though since kindergarten may mean since my kindergarten time/days, and though it is acceptable, since I was in kindergarten looks better to me.

Since you said ‘since kindergarten’ it’s automatically understood/assumed that you meant since you were in kindergarten.

Thanks, Ryan.

I have been interested in karate since young.

I presume “since young” means “since I was young”. Am I right? Thanks.

I’m afraid this won’t work since ‘young’ is an adjective while ‘kindergarten’ is a noun. The combination ‘since’ + noun works while ‘since’ + adjective doesn’t.

It should be since from childhood.

Take out from and it works.
