Should it be "going by the name Yishen Kuij" instead?

The man, going by Yishen Kuik, wrote in a Facebook post on Friday (May 26) that has since been shared over 200 times: “Much of what has been written on Ridout and the black-and-white houses is incorrect — and understandably so as very few members of the public live in one.”

Should it be “going by the name Yishen Kuik” instead?

I guess it’s OK, if it’s obvious that “Yishen Kuik” is a person’s name, but your suggestion would be clearer. I think adding “of” would be the more common form:

Once upon a time, a very long time ago now, about last Friday, Winnie-the-Pooh lived in a forest all by himself under the name of Sanders.

(“What does ‘under the name’ mean?” asked Christopher Robin.
It means he had the name over the door in gold letters, and lived under it.

The man is not going physically by the person named Yishen Kuik. Rather, he is making a reference. So, what you suggest sounds better and more acceptable!
