Shaving off

Hi guys
Again is me an another expression I cannot understand:

Could you tell me what the following expression mean?

Start shaving off your spare tyre.

Thanks
Swan

I think I found the meaning.
It refers to the roll of fat round a person’s waist.
Believe me or not this language is really tricky ;’-(((

Regards,
Swan

Your are right.

spare tyre - is often the term used to refer to a roll of fat around the waist or hips.
start shaving off - is not often used to express loss of weight, but that’s what it indicates here. My guess is that the article goes on to outline things you can do to lose weight.

Here in the US, “shaving off pounds” is a pretty common expression - Google gives thousands of results for “shaving off pounds”.

Thank you so much indeed
