SHAKING vs. TREMBLING and THE RELATIVE CLAUSE

EX: He had a gun SHAKING in his hands.

Can I use the -ing form verb alone in
this sentence?

I think the common sentence should
be like this:

EX: He had a gun “that was” shaking in
his hands.

But I omitted part of the relative clause=
“That was”.

Can I do it?

By the way, I used Shaking for a gun, Can
I use trembling instead?

EX: He had a gun trembling in his hands.

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can, and yes you can. Much better than with ‘that was’.
