Sentences Feb 11

Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to a native ear?

[color=blue]1. Does she sound so hoarse all the time or is she not well today?

  1. It is still not clear to me if he relinquished the power.

  2. Forget about saying a hi, she was not making an eye contact with me.

Thanks,

MG.

The first two are fine.

  1. Forget about saying hello to her as she didn’t even make eye contact with me.

Forget about saying “hi”; she didn’t even make eye contact with me.

One problem with No. 3 was that you actually used a comma to separate two sentences. That’s called a comma splice, and it’s not permissible in English.

Thanks folks.

Moderator,

Of late I don’t receive email alerts when someone replys to my thread. What could be the reason?

Thanks.
