Shouldn’t it be: The Pacific ocean is the largest ocean on Earth.?

Technically, the ocean is one big body of water, but to talk about different areas, we use the term ‘seas’ to differentiate between parts of the ocean.

Hence the ‘seven seas’, Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic, Mediterranean, Caribbean, and the Gulf of Mexico.

Technically, a sea is a part of the ocean that is at least partially landlocked.

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the definition is:

"1 a: a great body of salt water that covers much of the earth ; broadly : the waters of the earth as distinguished from the land and air b: a body of salt water of second rank more or less landlocked c: ocean d: an inland body of water —used especially for names of such bodies "
