I know that the right expression it’s a scale of 1-10, but why can’t the preposition ‘from’ be used instead of ‘of’? Doesn’t it specify a starting point in an expression of limits?
Who said ‘from’ cannot be used?
I think ‘of’ is more appropriate here because 1-10 describes the type of scale. If you used ‘from’, I feel you would need to introduce it like: On a scale ranging from 1-10.
