I’ve found the answer now, but can’t claim the merit badge, because I cheated and looked it up on Google :oops:. I would never have guessed your riddle otherwise.

Okay, I figured out the puzzle, but then realized it’s for learners of English and not me. :shock: Oops! Well, I’ll leave this hint for our distinguished guests:

GH from the word ____ is pronounced F

O from the word ____ is pronounced I

TI from the word ____ is pronounced SH

So…GHOTI can be pronounced FISH!
